Identify Mullite Insulation Brick By Looking, Listening And Treading

6 Juin 2016 , Rédigé par Stella Li

The quality of mullite insulation brick on the market varies. So, when there is no testing equiment, how to identify the quality of the products quickly? The simple to do this is looking, listening and treading.

(1) Look

Look at the appearance of the products. High quality products have smooth surface and exquisite workmanship. The back surface of the high quality brick is relatively clean, while low quality products have the dirty back surface.

High quality mullite insulation bricks have closed surface, less pores, high density and low water absorption rate. On the contrary, low quality products have more pores, loose particles, and high water absorption rate.

The concrete mortar of high quality products has uniform particles and hard, clean cement gravel, while the concrete mortar of low quality products has a low content of concrete and fine powder which has low strength and can be peeled off with fingers.

(2) Listen

Knock the brick with a stone, another brick or other hard things. High quality bricks have crisp sound like the sound of metal crashing, while the low quality products have boring sound.

(3) Tread

High quality products can have good strength and withstand the weight of two adults, while the low quality products may crack when two adults tread on it.
