Refractory Materials in Glass Industry

Applications of Ceramic Fiber Products

27 Juillet 2016 , Rédigé par Stella Li

Ceramic fiber is a type of new lightweight refractory material developed in 1960s. According to the shape and structure, it belongs to amorphous (glassy) fiber. It is made of hard clay clinker or industrial alumina powder and silica stone synthetic materials as the raw materials by melting in an electric arc furnace or resistance furnace and blowing or spinning into fiber with compressed air. It is mainly composed of 30%-55% Al2O3 and SiO2. Ceramic fiber can be further made into blanket, felt, board, paper, and rope as well as prefabricated blocks.

Application

(1) Ceramic fiber cotton: insulation filler materials in high temperature furnaces, heating devices, lining corners and complex space.

(2) Ceramic fiber blanket: insulation materials in the aerospace, steel and petrochemical industry; insulation and fire-resistant materials in military equipment; insulation materials in wall linings and back linings of industrial furnaces and heating equipment; insulation materials in high temperature equipment; insulation materials in high temperature pipes; insulation and fire-resistant materials in electrical components.

(3) Ceramic fiber paper: industrial insulation, sealing and anti-corrosion materials; insulation materials in electric thermal equipment; insulation materials in instruments and equipment; insulation materials in the automotive industry; sealing gaskets for isolating molten metal; fire-resistant materials.

(4) Ceramic fiber felt: insulation materials in expansion joints, back linings, insulation gaskets and molds in the steel industry; tundish and launder cover for pouring copper and copper alloy in the non-ferrous industry; high temperature gaskets; hot face linings of the kiln cars and kiln in the ceramic industry; insulation materials in the back lining and the burner blocks in the glass industry; hot face refractory materials, the back lining of heavy refractory materials and expansion joints in kilns and furnaces; the inner lining of industrial and domestic boilers and hot face materials in high temperature furnaces.

(5) Ceramic fiber board: back lining insulation of wall-mounted boilers, water heater and cement industry; the back lining insulation in the petrochemical, metallurgy, ceramic and glass industry; the back lining insulation of heat treatment furnaces; back lining insulation of high temperature reactor and heating equipment; fire resistance and noise reduction in the external building walls.

(6) Ceramic fiber module: lining insulation in the petrochemical industry; lining insulation in the metallurgy industry; lining insulation in the ceramic industry and glass industry; lining insulation in the heat treatment furnaces; linings in other industrial furnaces.

(7) Ceramic fiber textiles: high temperature pipe and container insulation, heat radiation shielding, protective clothing, fireproof curtain, cable or fuel pipe protection, cable insulation coating, electrical oven and baking oven door sealing, boilers, high temperature gas sealing component sealing, flexible expansion joint connection, industrial insulation, pipe and cable insulation wrapping, bolted flange connection.
